Kevin Grifhorst

Executive Director

Kevin became the Executive Director in 2002 after serving in varying Camp roles since 1988. Kevin has a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Michigan and a master's degree in Religious Education from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary of Cornerstone University. Kevin is also involved in the West Michigan community by serving as Chairman of the Nelson Township Planning Commission and recently having served as vice chairman on the board of CBH Ministries. In addition, he serves on the Michigan cabinet of CCCA (Christian Camps and Conference Association) as past President. Kevin teaches a course at Cornerstone University, Philosophy and Administration of Camping. Kevin loves camp ministry, reading, sports, and his family.

Michelle Grifhorst

Director Of Business Operations

Michelle grew up in a loving home in Granger, Indiana with her parents and older sister.  She went to church camp as a child and gave her life to the Lord during the summer that she turned 9 years old.  In 1995, Michelle graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  She went on to further her education by receiving a Master’s Degree from Grand Valley State University.  In 1998, Michelle joined the Pine Ridge team as the Oasis Camp Coordinator.  Throughout a couple years of working with the children, teens, and mentally impaired, Michelle fell in love with the camp ministry and with her eventual husband, Kevin.  Kevin and Michelle married in August of 2000.  Michelle quickly stepped into the role of overseeing the finances as the former Director, Ken, was looking to retire from PRBC.  Since that time, Michelle has continued to take care of the camp’s finances, teach chapels for the young children, teach Bible Club for the Cedar Springs Public Schools, and oversee the Camp’s two main fundraising events (the auction and the golf marathon).  Kevin and Michelle have four children, Jadon (07/2002), Chloe (05/2004), Levi (08/2006), and Ella (08/2008).

Steve Hulet

Program & Guest Services Director

 Steve was 18 years old when he first heard the gospel and put his faith in Jesus Christ. God began directing His life toward ministry to youth.  He attended community college before transferring to Eastern Michigan University where he and his wife (Brenda) met; they both graduated and were married in 1997. God blessed them with two sons, Josh (11/2000) and Sam (12/2002). For six years, Steve worked as a teacher and youth leader until he was called into full-time ministry in 2002. In 2004, Steve and his family began serving at Pine Ridge Bible Camp as Program Directors. Steve is currently pursuing a Master’s Degree at Grand Rapids Theological Seminary of Cornerstone University.

Brenda Hulet

Program Director

 Brenda came to a saving knowledge of Christ on March 23, 1983 at the age of 9 while attending AWANA with a neighbor.  She knew right then that she wanted to share Jesus with others.  She joined the PRBC staff full time in June 2004 after serving as a cabin leader and coordinator during college.  She now serves as a Program Director with her husband Steve Hulet.  Brenda began working with youth in 1992 and has served as a children’s church teacher in the local church.  She is a Bible Club teacher in Cedar Springs Public Schools and enjoys volunteering in her kid’s classroom.  Brenda has 2 children, Josh and Sam.  One of her favorite parts of being a program director is coming up with crazy games, ideas and skits.  She has a bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Leah Compston

Office Manager

Leah joined the Pine Ridge family in January 2012 soon after she married Caleb Compston. As Office Manager, Leah warmly greets all of our guests, registers campers, writes the camp newsletter, and assists all the other staff members with their office needs. Leah grew up in Grand Rapids, MI and attended PRBC for a few years as a child. She has her Bachelor’s of Music in Vocal Performance from Cornerstone University and fancies song-writing and performing in her free time. Leah also revels in knitting, crocheting, and crafting.

Gary Mills

Maintainence Director

Gary joined the PRBC staff in June of 2012.  He grew up in Clarkston, Michigan along with his wife Laura.  Gary graduated from Central Michigan University and spent 4 years in north west Illinois teaching industrial arts, and the last 26 years in Bad Axe, Michigan teaching engineering and architecture.  He has retired from the Michigan education system, and is looking forward to working with his wife and using his talents for the Lord in the facility and maintenance position at the camp.
