Registration Time: 9:00 am - 10:30 am on the first day of the camp session.
Pick Up Time: Saturday 10:30 am. Join the parents meeting at 9:45 am! Coffee and sweet rolls will be provided before giving you an update on the camp week and other important Pine Ridge information. (Note: Mini Camp pick-up time is also 10:30 am on the last day of the session)
What to Bring (Packing List): Each camper should bring a sleeping bag (or blankets and sheets), a pillow, play clothes, clothes for cool days, rain gear, one dress outfit for talent night, a wash cloth, towel, soap, tooth brush and tooth paste, warm pajamas, plastic bag for dirty clothes, swim suit, 2 pair of shoes, Bible, pen and notebook. Please, do not bring ipods, radios, CD players, or cell phones.
Please bring modest clothing only. No short shorts, bare midriffs, or 2-piece swim suits are allowed. All clothes should be marked with the camper's full name. Any clothes left at Camp and unclaimed by September will be given to a worthy charity. Pine Ridge is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.
How to Email a Camper: Use the address camper@pineridgecamp.com and put the camper's name in the subject line. Each email will be charged 15 cents to the camper's spending card. Incoming emails are given to campers each day. Due to computer limitations, campers are not allowed to send outgoing emails.
Telephone Usage: Campers are not allowed to use the telephone for outgoing calls while at Pine Ridge. If any home sickness, illness, or other problems arise concerning a camper, either the Health Officer or Program Director will notify the parent immediately.
Camp Spending $$: Pine Ridge transfers all spending money onto 'canteen cards.' Usually, $15-$20 will suffice for the week depending on what purchases are made. The Camp has a Snack Shop with healthy snacks as well as pop, ice cream, candy, and chips. We also sell Camp T-shirts, sweat shirts, water bottles, Bibles, and other popular items in our Camp Store. The Camp Craft Room has many options to choose from. Most of these options are less than $5 in cost. There will also be a Missions Offering taken that allows campers to give to our selected mission project.
Do I have to go to church to come to camp? No. While Pine Ridge keeps Jesus Christ central to its program and is Bible-based, we have a great diversity of campers from many backgrounds.
How does Pine Ridge hire and train their staff? Every staff person is carefully selected based on spiritual maturity, responsibility, and outstanding character qualities. The hiring process includes a detailed application, reference checking, personal interview, and criminal background check. At the beginning of the summer season, Pine Ridge has a mandatory nine day training. Training includes camp policy, behavioral management, emergency response and CPR, activity safety procedures, group leadership, and more. In addition, training includes buidling a spiritual foundation centered on Jesus Christ. Daily and weekly staff meetings throughout the summer provide consistent overview of our staff and their performance.
Financial Aid: The generous family of Pine Ridge Bible Camp has always done everything in its power to ensure that no one is excluded from the Christian camping experience due to financial hardships. This is why we have kept our prices among the lowest in Michigan while offering excellent programs and activities. A limited number of scholarships are available each season and they are awarded according to need and availability. You may apply for a scholarship here, but we also strongly encourage you to participate in the Sub Sale Fundraiser. It's a great way for your child to earn his or her way to camp. Also, if your child is involved in a children or youth program at church, some churches offer camp scholarships as well.
